I ran that sucker 24/7 non-stop for 6 years straight and rebooted it less than 3 times! It still works, but I wanted a faster wifi connection and firmware with better VPN support. Enter the RT-N66U with Merlin firmware. TomatoUSB on an Asus RT-N66U : TomatoFTW I've flashed several routers in the past with Tomato, and understand the 30-30-30 reset, getting the router into "recovery mode", etc. Due to the fact I don't use Windows on any of my systems, rather Linux instead, using the Windows Asus recovery app was a non-starter.
